About Me
Hi there! I'm Raquel and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, providing services to North Carolina residents. I received my bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from the University of North Carolina (Go Heels!) in 2003 and a Master of Arts in counseling from Wake Forest University (Go Deacs!) in 2005. I have been practicing for 18 years and have had varied experiences throughout my time as a therapist. I've worked with clients as young as 3 years old to adults in retirement age. I've worked with families, couples, and individuals.
My passion is to help people become the version of themselves that they want to be. I do this by adopting a stance of belief in the people I work with because I truly believe we were made to do hard things. I am amazed by the truly incredible things humans do on a daily basis and it is my job to instill that belief in my clients.
I use a mix of Cognitive-Behavioral and Solution-Focused modalities to get to the root of core beliefs that get individuals stuck in daily living, while also engaging in "resource talk" that instills hope for a preferred future. I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), a Level 1 Certified Solution-Focused Brief Therapist, and an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (CCSP). I am also fluent in Spanish and can accommodate language needs.
I live in Clemmons, NC with my husband and three nearly teenage girls. In my spare time I enjoy running, reading, and spending time with my family.
The relationship between therapist and client is a sacred one and one that I do not take lightly. I would be honored to take this journey of healing with you, and witness as you take small steps toward life-changing impact.
